I’d like to apply for one of the LawCareersNetLIVE conferences, but I’m not sure which event I should choose?
This year we are excited to be bringing our annual LawCareersNetLIVE conferences to you virtually. All three of our events – Manchester, London and Virtual – will be split over two afternoons and offer delegates the chance to meet and network with a range of top law firms online. We understand that the new virtual format might make it difficult for candidates to distinguish between events, so here is our advice on how to choose which one to apply for.
As students are allowed to apply for only one LawCareersNetLIVE event, we recommend taking some time to work out which firms you are most interested in and which dates work best for you.
LawCareersNetLIVE Manchester is taking place on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 November. LawCareersNetLIVE Virtual is taking place on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 December. LawCareersNetLIVE London is taking place on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 December.
If you are interested in working in the City, then LawCareersNetLIVE London will be the event for you. Sponsor firms include Baker McKenzie, Kirkland & Ellis International LLP and Vinson & Elkins RLLP. There are some great workshop topics confirmed for LawCareersNetLIVE London too, so if you fancy finding out more about international M&A, international civil fraud or private equity and private funds, you should consider applying for this event.
For those of you thinking of a career in Manchester and beyond, LawCareersNetLIVE Manchester boasts exclusive access to some of the UK’s most elite national firms, such as DWF Group Plc, Shoosmiths and Squire Patton Boggs (UK) LLP. Workshop topics confirmed so far include catastrophic injury, real estate and sports law.
Burges Salmon LLP, Osborne Clarke LLP, Pinsent Masons LLP, RPC and Weil Gotshal & Manges (London) LLP are all sponsoring LawCareersNetLIVE Virtual and will be on hand throughout the event to meet and engage with delegates. Workshop topics for this event include family law, restructuring and private equity during a global crisis and corporate transactions.
We’ve already had applications where candidates have cited the wrong firms at the wrong events, so make sure to check the LawCareersNetLIVE website for the full list of sponsor firms and workshop topics.
Please note that LawCareersNetLIVE London is highly oversubscribed every year. While we read every application that comes in, we will be looking for outstanding applications, especially for LawCareersNetLIVE London – that means excellent academics, good work experience, an understanding of the importance of commerciality and self-knowledge when it comes to the reasons why you will make a successful lawyer.
You cannot transfer between events after submitting your application, so please choose the dates that you can attend.
We hope this helps, and we look forward to receiving your application for LawCareersNetLIVE!
