Magic circle giant Allen & Overy has joined top-end firms and chambers that include Clifford Chance, Fountain Court Chambers, Hogan Lovells, Herbert Smith, Slaughter and May and Travers Smith in signing up to a specialist agency which actively recruits high-achieving African Caribbean graduates. Established in 2005, Rare also recruits high-achieving candidates from other ethnic minorities, as well as those from non-ethnic minorities who reach the agency's quality standard. A number of banks and corporates are also signed up to the agency, including Lloyds, UBS, Transport for London and L'Oreal.
A&O's graduate recruitment manager Caroline Lindner told Legal Week: "Attracting the best and most diverse candidates is a business imperative for A&O. We are a global business, which relies on recruiting the most exceptional people from the broadest range of backgrounds, cultures and nationalities to best serve our clients. By working with Rare, we are showing our commitment to getting those people from the broadest pool of candidates possible."
