Applications for 2021 should be received by 31 July 2019. Candidates are required to complete an application form, which can be downloaded from our website and this should be accompanied by a CV and covering letter.

Types of work
Cripps is divided into three divisions: real estate, corporate and private client. The divisions include a wide range of contentious and transactional/advisory legal disciplines allowing trainees to gain a similarly broad range of experience before deciding upon their preferred area of law.
Who should apply
Cripps is a team-based firm and we need people who will enjoy this environment whilst contributing to it. Confidence with other people is important in a client-based role, as is the determination to provide high-quality solutions and advice. Enthusiasm and a desire to learn are also important, but above all else, we want people who are committed to a long term career in our firm. Over half of our current lawyers originally trained with the firm, including a number of partners. Feedback from current and previous trainees rates working in Tunbridge Wells very highly and they are particularly complimentary about the sports, social and corporate social responsibility opportunities that we offer.
Cripps has an exclusive deal with the BPP Law School for LPC and PSC studies. This provides all our future trainees with discounted rates. In addition, we have a discretionary funding scheme for LPC students. This provides 50% by way of bursary and 50% by way of an interest-free loan.
Training contract programme
We offer a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing training throughout the two year contract. Support is provided regularly through structured reviews and on-the-job coaching. We offer a four-seat training contract which provides excellent hands-on experience to the training experience. Levels of responsibility are high with many trainees managing their own files under supervision.
