Student Law Society Awards 2022: the winners

updated on 18 March 2022

Law societies, law firm representatives and the LawCareers.Net team gathered last night on Thursday 17 March 2022 to celebrate the eighth annual LawCareers.Net Student Law Society Awards.

The purpose of the awards is to highlight the hard work of student law societies across the UK through a range of different award categories – from ‘Best society for pro bono’, to ‘Best society for commercial awareness’. Nominees across the 13 award categories were praised for their hard work in engaging their membership during a turbulent period of hybrid working because of the covid-19 pandemic.

New for 2022 was the ‘Best society for welfare’ award, which celebrated the societies that showcased a commitment to looking after their members’ wellbeing and mental health, as well as offering career information and opportunities.

This year’s award ceremony took place at 116 Pall Mall after being hosted virtually in 2021.

Nominated societies were selected from the submissions of committees, alongside nearly 2,500 votes from their members.

Bethany Wren, content and events manager at LawCareers.Net and host of the awards, commented: “I am always thoroughly impressed by the dedication of student law societies who seek to support their members in so many different ways on their paths to a legal career.

“LawCareers.Net is proud to bring together societies of all different sizes from all over the country to commend their efforts of the past year. It was a pleasure to host this event in person for the first time in two years, and to meet so many enthusiastic and engaged future lawyers.”
