We have five offices – Southampton, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Poole & Winchester and your training contract will take place in at least two of our offices, to give a wide range of experience.

Main areas of work. On the commercial side, we represent international and national household brand names, owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and major regional employers across the UK. When acting for individuals, we represent land-owners, entrepreneurs, families, high-net-worth individuals, property developers and trustees.

Legal advice to businesses includes: corporate, commercial, banking and finance, commercial property, commercial and property litigation, insurance litigation, employment, licensing, health and safety and regulatory work. Legal advice to individuals includes: personal injury, wills, trusts and tax, wealth structuring and inheritance planning, agriculture and rural property, family, clinical negligence, and residential property.

Trainee solicitors usually undertake four separate seats, each lasting six months. There are no compulsory seats. The firm offers a flexible approach in deciding trainees’ seats to suit individual needs and providing a broad training programme in accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority guidelines, whilst also taking into consideration the firm’s business needs.

Trainees work closely with the supervising partner and the early talent manager to whom they are responsible. Trainees are considered an important part of each team and become closely involved in the team’s work to obtain first-hand legal experience. Each trainee’s performance is reviewed regularly by their supervisor and regular feedback is provided. Trainees are an integral part of the firm from day one. They are responsible for organising social and sporting events, participating in networking and business development activities and in supporting the firm’s nominated charities. 

We ask candidates to complete both their SQE1 and SQE2 before commencing their QWE. This means that they can full emmerse themselves in the QWE without the additional pressures of studying. We cover the costs associates with passing the SQE1 and SQE2, including preparation courses and the first exam sittings.
