Talbots' summer vacation scheme is the perfect first step on your journey to becoming a lawyer.

Running for one week from 11 to 14 July across five of our busiest locations, you’ll gain real insight into life at our established, ambitious, and successful regional law firm.

You’ll be treated like one of the team and experience the recognition and support that comes with being a fellow employee-owner. We offer an authentic, challenging, and rewarding experience designed to give you a true taste of your potential future career. Whether you find yourself drafting documents, creating a presentation, attending client meetings, researching cases, or even observing in court, you’ll be guided by our experts and working alongside similarly talented and driven aspiring lawyers.

On Monday and Friday, you’ll join us at our prestigious Waterfront office for a range of inductions, training, networking and other activities. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday you’ll be based at one of our regional offices getting involved in major client projects across a range of practices and jurisdictions.

It’s our intention that you will end the scheme with invaluable experience, new and meaningful connections, and a heightened sense of career direction.

To be eligible to apply for our summer vacation scheme, you’ll need to be:

At least 18 years old

Studying a legal pathway at graduate or post-graduate level

Local and able to commute to our offices, and

Looking to pursue a career in law.
