RK is a leading City of London law firm, offering specialist legal expertise of the highest calibre to commercial clients, predominantly operating in the finance, real estate, construction and private equity sectors.
We’re not alone in what we do, but we’re not what you might call typical either. RK is a law firm for the 21st century. We’re focused on clients and people, not status. Everyone here is hands on and there’s extraordinary attention to detail. We are proud of the contemporary, collaborative environment that we have cultivated, where people with exceptional talents have the chance to develop their own career and area of expertise. That’s why you’ll find people who have been here 10, 20 even 30 years.
We take the work seriously, not ourselves. We don’t measure an individual’s importance by the size of their desk or the class of carpet in their office. There’s no one who’s too senior or too smart to talk to. You won’t find any back-room lawyers here. Everyone at RK has the chance to bring their imagination and ingenuity to the challenges we’re set. All of which explains our non-typical success rate.
Clients come first
Understanding our client’s business objectives means we can surpass their expectations. Making communication easy and seamless, delivering to deadline and negotiating the very best deals all help to build strong, long-term relationships with our clients.
Challenging the norm
It’s our instinct to always push the boundaries for a better solution. That means keeping a flexible, agile approach and an open mind to new ideas, encouraging individuality and a clear point of view.
Winning through collaboration
We work as teams, not individuals. We encourage talent by respecting the expertise and contributions of our colleagues, supporting them by sharing knowledge and playing our part in creating a motivating, challenging, fun environment.
Going the extra mile
We put passion and pride into every piece of work. That means leaving no stone unturned, exploring all the angles and seeing every task through to the end, no matter what it takes.
Trainee lawyers at RK receive high-quality hands-on training throughout a two year training programme. Our trainees undertake four six-month seats, rotating between departments, giving them an opportunity to gain invaluable experience in both contentious and non-contentious practice. We see our trainees as our lawyers of the future, which is why we ensure that trainees are mentored by our most experienced lawyers who are some of the best and brightest legal minds in their fields. We have an excellent record of retaining trainee solicitors on qualification and we aim to recruit trainees who are interested in making a long term commitment to the firm.
Our trainees receive first-class technical training and from the outset are encouraged to go the extra mile and challenge their own expectations of themselves. But it’s not all hard work. The firm is friendly and supportive with an open-door policy along with a range of social and sporting activities which creates a motivating and fun environment.
Who should apply
We are looking for bright, ambitious and talented people whose personal ambitions align with our firm’s core values. All applicants must have a minimum qualification of a 2.1 law degree or a non-law degree and the GDL, and the LPC.
