International law firm Withers LLP has announced that it’s achieved Mansfield Rule Certification Plus in the UK and US having demonstrated its progress in, and commitment to, increasing diversity.
Pass rates on the Legal Practice Course (LPC) have dropped from 57% to just 42% in the year ending 31 August 2024, according to new data from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). The regulator also reported that a record-high number of students (46%) failed or deferred due to exceptional circumstances.

US law firms are outperforming their London counterparts when it comes to pro bono work, according to a survey by Law.com. The study asked 35 law firms to disclose the total number of free hours worked by lawyers at their UK offices and the percentage of lawyers undertaking pro bono work.
