CityLawLIVE and NationalLawLIVE, the one-day student conferences for aspiring solicitors have announced that they are jointly extending their deadline to Friday 8 November. Giving applicants an additional week in which to submit will hopefully attract those students who may not have had the time to get their applications in for consideration.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has authorised the first fully AI-driven law firm, Garfield.Law Ltd, to provide regulated legal services in England and Wales. The move is said to be a “landmark moment for legal services in this country”.
The High Court has issued a warning to UK legal professionals following the alleged misuse of AI in two recent legal proceedings, where fake case-law citations had been submitted in court. The ruling, delivered by president of the King’s Bench Division Dame Victoria Sharp, urged immediate action to address the misuse’s “serious implications for the administration of justice and public confidence in the justice system”.
