Hill Dickinson LLP is the latest law firm to sign up to Project Rise – a cross-firm initiative by the Law Society’s Disabled Solicitors Network, which is designed to encourage more part-time training opportunities in the legal profession.
International law firm Hill Dickinson LLP has implemented regulations on the general use of generative AI by its staff following a "significant increase in usage”. On Tuesday, BBC News reported that the firm had blocked general access to several AI tools after it had seen an email from the firm to employees. The email revealed that there were more than 32,000 hits to ChatGPT over a seven-day period in January and February.
The High Court has issued a warning to UK legal professionals following the alleged misuse of AI in two recent legal proceedings, where fake case-law citations had been submitted in court. The ruling, delivered by president of the King’s Bench Division Dame Victoria Sharp, urged immediate action to address the misuse’s “serious implications for the administration of justice and public confidence in the justice system”.
