Legal Apprenticeship Vacancies

London solicitor apprenticeship

At Broadfield we value all routes to qualification. With our six year Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship programme, apprentices can become a qualified solicitor by completing a law degree and passing the Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE), with Broadfield covering all of the tuition and assessment fees.

As we work in small teams, apprentices will benefit from collaborating alongside senior lawyers from the outset, earning a salary while gaining real life legal experience across multiple practice areas. Our supportive, inclusive culture and genuine work/life balance provide opportunities to develop technical skills, extend legal knowledge and grow client relationships, while providing enough time to dedicate to apprenticeship studies.

Programme

Throughout the six years of the apprenticeship, apprentices will be working four days a week alongside our solicitors and partners real life legal experience as they rotate seats across our broad range of practice areas. One day a week will be spent studying, gaining an LLB in Legal Practice and Skills and later the SQE awarded by The University of Law. This will include online and face-to-face teaching to give both flexibility and the opportunity for social interaction with other solicitor apprentices.

Our apprenticeship programme offers comprehensive development and significant client exposure, designed to equip apprentices with the skills and experience needed for a successful legal career. Apprentices are valued members of their teams, taking on meaningful work from the outset and developing strong client relationships. The firm is committed to delivering a training experience that fosters both professional and personal growth, while maintaining the highest standards of service to clients.

As Broadfield is a member of the City of London Law Society #CityCentury collaboration, you'll also benefit from unique modules specifically designed to expand your understanding of corporate legal practice in the City, as well as additional SQE Plus modules to align your business skills with those of graduate trainees.

Skills

We’re looking for future apprentices that are driven, collaborative and intuitive. Candidates need to be excellent communicators that enjoy working as a team and thinking on their feet. Apprentices should have strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and organisational skills.

Application process

Our recruitment process is made up of an online application form including essay style questions focusing on your motivation for a career in law and working at Broadfield. We understand that candidates will use AI tools to help research, structure or proofread their application, but applications that rely too heavily on AI won't score well, as our assessment is based on genuine personal experiences and authentic reflections.

If your application is successful, you’ll be invited to a pre-recorded video interview for us to get to know you better.

The final stage of the recruitment process is an in person assessment centre held at the start of April.
