Application details and method of selection
Applications for our 2021 and 2022 training contracts will be open to all graduates, penultimate and final-year students from October 2018 until 15 June 2019.

We are a full-service, business-oriented law firm with more than 650 lawyers worldwide, across 14 offices, providing sophisticated, high-value legal services. Our London office is a growing office currently comprising approximately 40 lawyers and three trainees.
Worldwide, our lawyers serve as valued partners to public and private companies, including many of the leading UK financial institutions and corporations, nearly half of the Fortune 100, nine out of 10 of the largest investment banks on Wall Street and a full spectrum of leisure and entertainment companies. In London we have a strong focus in the financial services and hospitality and leisure sectors in particular, across the various practice groups, including hotels, motion picture studios and television networks.

£8,000 for GDL maintenance grant in London.
£8,000 for LPC maintenance grant in London.
Katten offers up to five one-week work placement programmes, normally throughout June and July each year. The programme provides practical experience, with vacation schemers undertaking a variety of work from different practice areas and having the opportunity to see first-hand how our solicitors and partners work.
Training contract programme
We have a wide variety of practice groups providing a full service to clients. We are flexible in our trainees’ choice of seats, offering a bespoke training contract. Trainees will have a number of three to six-month departmental ‘seats’, but they will also frequently work on matters across complementary departments at the same time, which ensures that you get as broad an experience as possible.
Our trainees are just as important as our other fee-earners and as such you will be as key to our client service, business development and office growth over the coming years as our partners, associates and staff.
Our training contract is very flexible, incorporating your interests as well as our desire to create a rounded, commercial, qualified Katten lawyer with strong legal knowledge, excellent client service skills and sound business acumen.
All our lawyers will provide you with continued mentoring throughout your training contract, as befits our collaborative and open culture.
