The role

As a Legal helpline advisor you will hold a very important role providing high quality telephone based legal guidance to potential clients. You will need to be proactive and use your initiative to undertake detailed legal research to provide clients with practical and SMART advice.

Each call is different and it is the advisors role to be quick to understand and approachable and caring with their response. You will also have the tenacity to deal with the varied and challenging scenarios which may occur when providing clients with general advice on the area of law relating to their query, including a discussion regarding potential remedies and any associated risks involved in the various options.

As Legal helpline advisor you will work in a dynamic team of 10 to 13 experienced and friendly legal specialists. The department is fast paced but not commission orientated, we are focused on quality and exceeding the expectations of our clients. While the role is primarily telephone based there is an element of administration and it is your responsibility to ensure all set tasks are completed to the highest of standards.

To begin all you need is a LLB/LPC/GDL/ ILEX qualification, the aptitude to learn, some customer service experience and the right attitude to develop as part of an ambitious and rewarding team.

The benefits and hours

In addition to your starting salary we have a competitive benefits package including pension, critical illness cover, health cash plan and death in service benefit. As the Legal helpline advisor works through the various skill sets within the training programme they will be eligible for an incremental salary increase.

The role will involve working on a rota basis to cover the hours of 7am to 9pm. This includes weekends and public holidays. You will also be expected to cover the overnight shift from time to time.
