Reed Smith thinks big on work experience

updated on 03 May 2013

Reed Smith has agreed to become the first law firm to place all of its work experience opportunities on www.GoThinkBig.co.uk, an initiative which aims to make thousands of diverse work experience opportunities available to anyone with access to the Internet.

The firm has joined well-known employers such as ITN and Channel 4 on the scheme. Legal Futures reports that Reed Smith is using the site to take applications for its week-long placements with its corporate team in July, as well as to spread awareness of its upcoming event centred on informing law students and trainee solicitors who have disabilities more about private practice.

GoThinkBig also publicises the vocational routes into the profession provided by the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Legal Services and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

Reed Smith partner Carolyn Pepper said: "Reed Smith will partner with GoThinkBig to help support and encourage young people in developing the skills that they need for the work place. All businesses need young talent, energy and creativity to grow. We want to help young people realise their potential, talents and goals."
