Student Law Society Awards go virtual to celebrate societies across the UK

updated on 19 March 2021

On Thursday 18 March 2021, the seventh annual LawCareers.Net Student Law Society Awards, sponsored by Willkie Farr & Gallagher (UK) LLP, celebrated the hard work and commitment of student law societies at a virtual awards ceremony.

The awards seek to recognise the commitment of student-led societies who support their members through activities which include a range of careers and social events, pro bono and mooting activities and opportunities for aspiring barristers, non-law and first-year students and those looking to improve their commercial awareness.

Nominated societies were selected from the submissions of committees, alongside nearly 2,000 votes from their members.

Bethany Wren, content and events manager at LawCareers.Net, commented: “This year more than ever it was fantastic to see how students have adapted to a changing and challenging world, and how they have thrown themselves into converting their society’s events and offerings online.

“We were extremely encouraged to hear from societies going above and beyond to continue supporting their members during a very difficult time, and the Awards were a brilliant way to highlight that hard work and tenacity.”
