International firm RPC has relaunched training contracts at its Bristol office after several years of basing the firm’s training programme solely at its London headquarters.
Unusually for law firms, which generally recruit trainees two years in advance, RPC’s first two Bristol-based training contracts have a start date of September 2018. LPC graduates and candidates set to complete the LPC before September can now apply. However, Legal Cheek reports that a faster start won’t remain a feature of the firm’s Bristol training programme, with management planning to recruit two years in advance in future, in line with the London office.
A spokesperson for RPC said: “The Bristol training contract has been reinstated to provide trainee level resource for the growing office as an integral part of our plans to establish an organic pipeline of high-quality junior talent into Temple Circus [the location of the firm’s Bristol office]. It will run alongside the apprenticeship programme to which we are currently recruiting.”
