US firm McDermott Will & Emery has launched a new internship at City Law School, the law faculty of City University London.
The three-month international litigation internship will be run from McDermott Will & Emery's Frankfurt office, and is available to LLM students specialising in international arbitration, international energy litigation, admiralty law, world trade law or public international law. All of these courses are options on City Law School's LLM in international commercial law, on which students choose four modules from 30 available before completing a dissertation. Students taking relevant courses in the first term will be eligible to compete for the internship, with finalists taken from those that attain the highest coursework marks to face a final interview with lawyers from McDermott Will & Emery.
The internship will run from May 2013 to July 2013. The winning student will receive a two-month extension to City Law School's dissertation deadline, plus support from McDermott Will & Emery for the duration of his/her time in Frankfurt.
Dean of City Law School, Professor Carl Stychin, said: "The City Law School is delighted that MWE has agreed to provide this internship. It will provide the winning LLM student with a flying to start to a legal career in international commercial litigation."
