Lincoln’s Inn brings to life the stories of six practising barristers from unconventional backgrounds in its new outreach film Becoming a Barrister.
Created to highlight the diverse backgrounds, experiences and personal characteristics of practising barristers and the wider profession, Lincoln’s Inn seeks to encourage more people to consider a career at the Bar with its new film.
Becoming a Barrister aims to challenge the traditional perceptions of who can become a barrister and highlights the different journeys of six barristers from underrepresented backgrounds. Each interviewee offers insights into their life before the Bar, their journey into the profession and the challenges and highlights of their individual careers.
The film will feature full length interviews with:
Simon Clarke, Smith Bowyer Clarke Road Transport Lawyers;
Kelly Cronin, Park Square Chambers;
Laura Gould, Kings Chambers;
Mark MacDonald, Furnival Chambers;
Charlotte Pope-Williams, 3 Hare Court (Pinsent Mason LLP at time of filming); and
Natasha Shotunde, Garden Court Chambers.
Lincoln’s Inn hopes the film will be a valuable resource for schools, universities and anybody considering a career at the Bar.
