This year’s London Legal Walk saw another record number of legal professionals turn up to complete one of the 10-kilometre routes to raise awareness and funds for access to justice. On Tuesday 17 June, 19,000 walkers came together in support of the London Legal Support Trust (LLST), an independent charity that funds law centres and pro bono agencies across London and the South East.
The Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr and Law Society President, Richard Atkinson, were among the lead walkers this year. A range of law firms, businesses and charities took part, including LawCare, Birketts LLP, A&O Shearman, DWF Group Limited, BARBRI and more than 50 representatives from LawCareers.Net’s parent company, Law Business Research (LBR) took part this year, with LBR managing to raise a total of £1,500.
The walk, with varied routes for different abilities, concluded with a street party, including street food, entertainment and a complimentary drink. LawCareers.Net’s senior content & engagement coordinator Ellie Nicholl described her experience stating: “Taking part in the London Legal Walk 2025 was a brilliant way to support access to justice while connecting with the wider legal community. It was great to see so many people come together for such an important cause.”
Since the first event in 2005, more than 150,000 people have taken part in the annual walk, raising around £11.5 million. Funds raised as a result of the legal walk have helped provide support to over 12,000 people who would’ve struggled to access justice, according to LLST.
