BPP Law School in Leeds recently hosted a launch event for the city’s new legal apprenticeship scheme.
The programme involves a partnership of BPP, Leeds City Council and several law firms to provide opportunities for students seeking a career in law without following the traditional university route. As well as completing the existing level 3 legal apprenticeship framework, participants will attend classes at BPP Law School - these will equate to studying year one of an undergraduate law degree. They will also undertake a city-related module, learning from business heads based in Leeds. Firms attending the launch event included Bond Dickinson, Addleshaw Goddard, Walker Morris and Eversheds.
Managing director at BPP Leeds, Joanna Preston-Taylor, said: "We decided to launch the new Leeds legal apprenticeship scheme to tailor the programme even further to meet employer needs and increase the number of opportunities available for students who do not want to follow the traditional university route into law."
