Hogan Lovells puts women at forefront of diversity drive

updated on 16 October 2012

Hogan Lovells has unveiled the details of its diversity plan, which includes an emphasis on retaining and advancing the careers of women lawyers to ensure greater gender equality among its partners.

The firm’s partnership is currently 21% female; the aim of its diversity initiative is to increase this percentage to 25% by 2017 and 30% by 2022. Across Hogan Lovells more widely, 28% of management positions are currently occupied by women, with senior figures at the firm aiming for this figure to rise to 30% by 2015. Part of the firm's strategy for nurturing diversity is to engage its entire workforce with this important agenda and put inclusivity at the forefront of its activities.

Warren Gorrell and David Harris, the co-chief executives of the firm, said: "Hogan Lovells is committed to supporting the career progression of women in the workplace and our efforts in this regard have been recognised in the marketplace with a number of awards. But, we recognise there is more to do and we wanted to commit ourselves to targets which will ensure the firm is a truly inclusive environment for the long term. We are also focused on a number of initiatives internally to help us achieve these targets, including the development of our flexible working policy and processes to help support our female lawyers in progressing their careers as well as a range of mentoring opportunities. These initiatives are in addition to work we already do in rigorously monitoring our gender diversity progress and empowering and inspiring women through our Women's Network and Women's Initiative activities."
