BPP University Law School has partnered with the O Shaped Lawyer to introduce O-shaped attributes into the education provider’s Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) preparation courses.

The news follows both BARBRI and The College of Legal Practice also announcing partnerships with the O Shaped Lawyer.

Students on BPP’s Essentials for Practice module will study a range of material introducing the O Shaped five O’s and 12 attributes and their application in the world of law to give candidates the opportunity to “embark upon their legal career with the right skills and mindset”, according to BPP’s Dean Jo-Anne Pugh.

The founder of the O Shaper Lawyer Dan Kayne explains that the “partnership represents a milestone in modernising legal education.”

Kayne adds: “BPP work with many of the leading law firms in the country and train a significant proportion of aspiring lawyers. By embedding the O Shaped mindset, skills and behaviours into their Essentials for Practice module, it will introduce the critical human and business skills to many of our next generation of legal professionals, laying the foundations for them to enter the profession practice ready.  I am really looking forward to working with Jo and the team at BPP.”

BPP has a range of SQE preparation courses on offer, offering students the chance to progress through their SQE training in a way that suits them. There are options for standalone exam preparation courses for SQE1 and SQE2, as well as a more comprehensive programme that includes the introduction of the O-shaped principles.

The College of Legal Practice announced its partnership with the O Shaped Lawyer in March to deliver an official O Shaped Lawyer course, designed to specifically develop O-shaped competencies. The O Shaped Lawyer course can be taken on its own or as part of the education provider’s LLM in Legal Practice, alongside preparation for the SQE1 and SQE2.
