Law Society LGBT History Month 2015: speed networking event for LGB solicitors

Overview

On the 24 February 2015 the Law Society is hosting a speed networking event for Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual (LGB) solicitors to mark national LGBT History Month 2015.

We know from a number of studies that networking and access to positive and visible role models is important to the career development of LGB solicitors. The aim of this event is to bring LGB law students and LGB solicitors working in city law firms together with senior LGB solicitors and straight allies working in corporate in-house departments and city law firms to network.

The event and the post-event networking drinks will provide ample opportunity for delegates, speakers and sponsors to mingle and network.

In practical terms, the event will start with three keynote speeches focusing on the importance of effective networking to the career development of LGB solicitors and how it can be done well. This will be followed by a hour of speed-networking, during which time the attendees will spend 15 minutes at 3-4 different tables, each with its own ‘senior LGB host’. The networking will be group based.

Who should attend?

This event is open to LGB solicitors and law students in England and Wales.
