Thursday 20 January 2022 is the first results day for part one of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE). Candidates who sat SQE1 in November 2021 received their results at 3:00pm today via their SQE candidate accounts.

In November 2021, 1090 candidates, including 27 solicitor apprentices, took the first-ever Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) – SQE1. The candidates received their results on Friday last week and the Solicitors Regulation Authority has revealed an overall pass rate of 53%.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has released the results of part two of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) for the July 2025 sitting, revealing an overall pass rate of 76%. This was a small jump of 1% from the previous SQE2 results released in May.

Last week, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) announced the results for the January 2025 sitting of part one of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE), revealing a pass rate of 56%. This marks a slight recovery from last summer's record low pass rate of 44%, aligning the current pass rate with that of January 2024.

I’m beginning to understand the mechanics of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE). In Autumn 2021 the Solicitors Regulation Authority will introduce a two-part assessment, including a multiple-choice element designed to test legal knowledge (SQE1) and a series of written and oral exams designed to test legal skills (SQE2).
