Lawyers in Schools

Lawyers in Schools offers an opportunity for law firm employees to volunteer in the classroom: sharing knowledge and understanding on a variety of legal issues. Schools involved are often found in economically deprived areas; their students are given a privileged opportunity to learn not only about the law but develop key critical thinking and debating skills in a relaxed setting. Benefits are not only felt by the school participants – employee volunteers report that their time in schools is valuable and enlightening. It is not only law firms that provide volunteers, but also in-house legal teams and chambers. Partner organisations change through the year but current partners include: Amey; Barclays; BBC Worldwide; Blackstone Chambers; British Gas; BskyB; Centrica Energy; Credit Suisse; Everything Everywhere; Genworth Financial; JP Morgan; Land Securities; Matrix Chambers; National Grid; Rio Tinto; Solicitors in local government and Verizon.
