Lawyers in Schools offers an opportunity for law firm employees to volunteer in the classroom: sharing knowledge and understanding on a variety of legal issues. Schools involved are often found in economically deprived areas; their students are given a privileged opportunity to learn not only about the law but develop key critical thinking and debating skills in a relaxed setting. Benefits are not only felt by the school participants – employee volunteers report that their time in schools is valuable and enlightening. It is not only law firms that provide volunteers, but also in-house legal teams and chambers.
