IAAS level 2 accredited asylum / immigration solicitor or caseworker

Whalebone Associates is seeking a dedicated and experienced IAAS Level 2 (senior caseworker) accredited asylum/immigration solicitor or caseworker to join our expanding legal team.

This is a meaningful opportunity to provide specialist legal support to individuals referred through community, safeguarding and advocacy pathways. You'l be part of a supportive, mission-driven organisation committed to ensuring access to justice for vulnerable migrants and those with complex needs.

Key responsibilities 

Key responsibilities include:

  • delivering high-quality immigration and asylum advice and representation in line with regulatory and professional standards;
  • managing a varied caseload, working sensitively with vulnerable clients and those with multiple support needs;
  • liaising effectively with referring partners, community organisations and multi-agency support services; and
  • maintaining detailed case records, and ensuring compliance with internal policies, contractual requirements and external quality frameworks;

Candidate requirements

Candidate requirements include: 

  • an IAAS Level 2 (senior caseworker) accreditation (essential);
  • substantial experience in asylum and immigration casework;
  • a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding principles; 
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organisational abilities; and
  • a genuine commitment to social justice and supporting individuals facing structural disadvantage.
