Law Jobs

Trainee solicitor

Are you looking for a training contract with a successful law firm based in Somerset? Do you want to gain experience across a wide range of areas of law; from commercial property law to wills and tax planning law?  If you have answered yes to these questions, and you are seeking to commence a training contract in November 2017, read on.

Our priority is providing quality advice to our clients and we have cultured a successful ‘people firm’ which is reflected in our organic growth and client testimonials. In order to achieve this, we are a hard working but also expanding and successful law firm in central Somerset. We have offices in Wells, Street and Somerton, all of which specialise in general high street legal matters.

Our reputation means that we also specialise in a variety of agricultural transactions, corporate matters, sizeable commercial property transactions and we act for a number of developers and substantial companies, including certain household names in the retail sector.

We have had a philosophy of giving our trainees a wide range of practical experience (not just on a photocopier!) and skills through training and client contact over the two-year contract term. Our trainees complete four six-month seats, with exposure to all departments within the firm during the training programme. The trainee will have hands on experience of legal matters, client contact and responsibility with back up and support at all time. The hope is that the trainee will then see the vision of the firm and want to progress within Chubb Bulleid once they have qualified as a solicitor.

We are looking for candidates with a genuine passion for the legal profession, coupled with team-working skills to fit with our supportive and expert team. Together with academic ability, our ideal trainee will be self-effacing and an excellent communicator.

The mission of the firm is to continue to provide the best service for clients in the local area and continue to grow our practice. Applicants should demonstrate their personal commitment to our client care values in their application.

Applicants must have completed a law degree (or equivalent) and some level of experience is an advantage. A GDL/LPC qualification is desirable but not essential.

If you are looking to train within a friendly and supportive environment, with exposure to a client base that is typical of a larger city firm, then we might just be the perfect fit for your emerging legal career. Find out all about us here: www.chubb-bulleid.co.uk.

And we think you’ll agree, our location is something special too:
