Training contract

A training contract at Fragomen is the first step into building a successful career in Immigration. You will be given real responsibility from day one – working alongside some of the world’s most respected Immigration professionals and working with exciting, global clients across a wide range of industries.

About the training contract

During the course of your two-year training contract you will spend time in a selection of the following seats:

• UK Inbound – covering corporate & private immigration
• Office of General Counsel, EMEA
• Secondment to an external partner law firm

You will also be required to complete a one-week external course in contentious law.

These seats will allow you to gain a well-rounded insight into the world of Immigration and understand where you passion lies for future development. We always listen to your feedback and will try to take on-board seat preferences where possible.

About you

You will need to be commercially minded, driven to succeed and have a passion to develop a career in immigration.

Technical excellence is of course important to us and we will take an interest in this and your academics, but we are equally just as keen to know about you an individual and what you can bring to the firm.

Please note, to be considered for a training contract you must have successfully completed, or will have completed the Legal Practice Course before the training contract start date of either 1 September 2020, 1 March 2021 or 1 September 2021.

Once we receive your application we will then send you an application form via email to review, completeand return to [email protected].

The application period closes on Monday 3rd February 2020.

If successful upon review of your application form, the next stage will be a psychometric based test, which will be available to be complete between Monday 17 February and Friday 28 February 2020.

After this applications will be reviewed again and up to eight candidates will be put forward in each of our London and Sheffield offices to attend an assessment day.

The assessment day in London will be on 23 March 2020 and in Sheffield on 24 March 2020 and will consist of the following stages:

• A formal competency based interview
• A written assignment on a predetermined legal topic
• A group presentation on a predetermined topic - All information and preparation will be done on the day

Fragomen in the UK

Our UK team is made up of over 350 people working across two offices, based in London and Sheffield. Both offices are centrally located in their respective cities, with the Sheffield office having the added bonus of free on-site parking.

Our people work collaboratively and dynamically in a positive environment, with over 20 different languages being spoken.

We like to be social; holding monthly drinks in the office and having monthly take-aways or treats delivered that are chosen by our Employee of the Month.
