Slater and Gordon’s trainee programme will allow you to focus on becoming an integral part of the business, and we will give you support and responsibility, to shape and develop yourself, into becoming an excellent solicitor, capable of running your own caseload.

We believe becoming an outstanding solicitor is about continuous development – so, we will make sure you are challenged, and rewarded in equal measure!

During your two-year training contract, you will complete four seats (six months each), in a range of practice areas from personal injury to consumer legal services. We very much encourage trainees to experience a variety of departments to broaden their knowledge and experience.

Throughout your training contract you can look forward to working with your lawyers with extensive legal experience, who will make sure you get the best experience, by providing you with a diverse range  of client work and being on hand to offer all the support and guidance you need.

You will also be assigned a “buddy” to answer all your questions - they will be a newly qualified solicitor (NQ) who will have been in your position not long ago.

We need individuals who are highly motivated to learn and have a positive, can-do approach. We want candidates who can demonstrate an ability to organise themselves and others, and can combine technical ability with a common sense approach to their work.

Our dedicated learning and development team will be on hand to support you through your training contract journey.

  • Completion of the LPC by 31 August 2021
  • Holding yourself and others accountable to meet commitments
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills
  • Ability to organise yourself and others

  4. Assessment centre – includes a group exercise/assessment and interview – These will take place on the weeks commencing 12 and 19 July so please ensure availability*
