Law Jobs

Legal assistant

We require a part-time (three days a week) legal assistant to cover office junior work interested in housing and community care work under legal aid.

This is an entry-level role that would suit an applicant who has completed their law degree (2.1) and is committed to qualifying in the future as a solicitor.

The post will particularly suit applicants wishing to undertake their LPC on a part-time basis over two years while working part time with the firm. We would also welcome individuals who have completed the LPC.

The most important part of the job involves providing administrative support to fee earners, dealing with enquires and assisting with progressing files through the billing process. Experience of legal aid is preferable but not essential.

There may also be the opportunity to take on some fee earning work as per the needs of the firm.

Owning a car with a full clean driving licence will be an advantage to cover the firm's different offices.

Applicants must genuinely be interested in housing and community care law and remaining debt work still covered by legal aid involving the home being at risk. As the firm develops there would an opportunity to move into a full fee earning role subject to satisfactory performance. The firm is authorised to provide training contacts and for the right candidate there is scope for career development.

Application is by way of CV and covering letter to [email protected].
