Paralegal - civil litigation/regulation

We are a leading medical and dental defence organisation that has been supporting doctors and dentists throughout the United Kingdom for well over one hundred years. Working from offices in Glasgow and London we offer advice, support and indemnity to our members.

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and well organised paralegal to support our legal services department with the provision of claims handling services and to assist with other non-claims cases including coroner’s inquests and regulatory/disciplinary proceedings. The successful candidate will be based in our London office but must be willing to travel. 

Relevant experience of civil litigation, along with claims/case handling knowledge is a distinct advantage although a high level of academic achievement and evidence of initiative and self-motivation are equally important. You will ideally have a Law degree or post-graduate diploma and the LPC as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Background to this appointment 

At the present time the MDDUS operates as one of three bodies providing medico-and dento-legal advice and professional indemnity services to medical and dental practitioners. In recent times it has been gradually expanding its membership and geographical spread throughout the UK including the growth of our London office.

As part of our ongoing expansion, we require a paralegal to support our London-based legal team in maintaining the provision of high quality legal representation and advice to our members.
