£30,440 - £34,240 per annum inclusive

The City of London Corporation is the local authority for the "Square Mile". It is committed to the support of the City as a pre-eminent international financial and business centre and as a pleasant and vibrant place to work, live and relax. The City Corporation offers the normal array of local government services, as well as managing and funding a number of world-renowned educational and cultural institutions, being the trustee of Bridge House Estates (a large charity), operating wholesale markets and owning and managing some of London's most important open spaces, including Hampstead Heath and Epping Forest.

There is a vacancy in the public and corporate law division. The work of the division is very varied and includes local authority, administrative and constitutional law, planning and highways law, charities and trust law, ecclesiastical law, company law, information law, and the law relating to open spaces. It also includes the provision of legal advice to external organisations, including London councils.

The successful applicant will gain exposure to a wide variety of legal matters and build a strong sense of how the City of London and City Corporation operates. You’ll work across multiple projects, drafting routine legal and policy documents and correspondence, undertake research and provide routine advice, and provide legal, technical and administrative support to the team.

The successful applicant will be highly organised, adaptable and calm under pressure, and enjoy the challenge of supporting more than one team member and juggling priorities.
