We are looking for an enthusiastic LPC graduate (or due to graduate this year) to join our busy and growing team.
About the firm
JG Poole & Co LLP is a boutique practice, with specialisms in higher education; projects; development; commercial property and private client. The firm was founded in 2013 by former Eversheds and Mills & Reeve partner, Jason Poole. Since then, the firm has gone from strength to strength and now operates across three locations: Ely (Cambridge), Norwich and Royal Leamington Spa.
The firm focuses on high quality work, regularly working opposite large city and national firms.
The Legal 500 described the firm as “a very attractive and bespoke alternative to the big firms”.
About the role
You will be based in our head office in Ely and the role would be structured as a six-month paralegal contract, transitioning into a training contract, subject to satisfactory performance. We would expect the experience given during the paralegal period to be of sufficient quality to allow you to qualify as a solicitor after an 18-month training contract.
As much of our work is multi-disciplinary and we want you to feel integrated into the firm from day one, we do not operate a rigid “seat” system. Initially, you would work in projects and finance (which has identified a clear NQ slot for two years’ time), but also be given the opportunity to experience other areas of law at the same time. To give an example, if we were advising on a property finance matter, you could assist the finance partner on the finance aspects and the commercial property partner on the commercial property aspects.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual who would like to build their career experiencing high quality work as part of a small, dynamic and growing firm.
You will have passed the LPC (or be due to graduate this year) and be able to demonstrate a high level of academic performance. Paralegal experience gained with a large firm in a transactional discipline, for example banking or corporate, will be an advantage, although not essential.
Please apply by sending your full CV (including a breakdown of your LPC modules) and a short covering letter telling us a bit about you. Please write to [email protected].
