Personal injury paralegal


Responsibilities and key skills:
An excellent opportunity to work for an innovative and growing law firm. The firm have an exciting opportunity to join their personal injury team to work as a paralegal handling personal injury claims.

The main objective of the role is to profitably manage a caseload of personal injury claims, acting at all times in the best interest of the claimant.
 

The ideal candidate will be required to:

  • Manage their own workload of files;
  • Accurately record all time spent;
  • Manage files to ensure that all payments made and received are accurately recorded and the procedures relating to payment of disbursements and damages are followed at all times;
  • Monitor and manage own compliance with targets in respect of income and file closure rates.

To be considered for this paralegal/legal assistant role:

  • A minimum 2.1 law degree classification;
  • Some experience of dealing with personal injury within a law firm, or within a commercial in-house environment is preferred but not essential;
  • Experience of RTA portal desirable but not essential;
  • Professional and enthusiastic approach to work and learning;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Strong organisational skills and communication, ability to prioritise work, multitask and work to tight deadlines;
  • Team player but comfortable working on own initiative;
  • IT literacy with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Self-motivated.

This role is suitable for someone who would like to progress to more complex matters in due course.
