Paralegal and office assistant (personal injury)

We currently have an opportunity for a paralegal and an office assistant to join our busy personal injury department in our Cambridge office.

The role

Key responsibilities for the paralegal would include (but would not be limited to):

• Producing routine correspondence and any administration associated with the opening and progressing of claims.
• Accurately obtaining statements from clients and witnesses.
• Completing legal research as requested.
• Attending meetings/hearings and taking notes where necessary.
• Assistance with business development activities.
• Prepare documents, trial bundles, indexing, paginating and inspecting documents.
• Instructing Counsel.
• Administrative support.

Key responsibilities for the office assistant would include (but would not be limited to):

• Dealing with incoming post and DX (date stamping, distribution)
• Outgoing post (franking, prep for Royal Mail and DX collection)
• Responsibility for stock checking, ordering and taking delivery of stationery
• Maintaining facilities equipment
• Providing support to legal assistants and team generally
• Photocopying tasks
• Filing

The candidate

The preferred candidate for our paralegal role will hold a qualifying law degree (as a minimum, or equivalent experience) with a good understanding of basic personal injury principles and previous experience of working in a similar environment within a law firm.

Our office assistant role is a good opportunity for the successful candidate to gain exposure and experience within a law firm.

Strong communication skills, an adaptable and flexible approach and the ability to work as part of a team will be essential for both roles.
