Trainee solicitor

Since the firm's incorporation in December 2018, Charles Cook, managing partner, along with the team, continue to act on high-profile and diverse matters,dealing in mergers and acquisitions for companies with a combined turnover of over £100 million.

The role

We are seeking a trainee solicitor to join our successful team. The role will involve working closely with the corporate and commercial property teams, giving you a varied workload with huge exposure to the legal world. You will not have a standard seat rotation, and will instead divide your time and resources between corporate and commercial property work, giving you invaluable experience in the roles you will qualify into as a solicitor. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting transactional documents including SPAs, shareholder agreements, etc;
  • drafting leases, assignments, CPSE responses, etc
  • seat variation in litigation, employment, and company secretarial work;
  • attending marketing events to promote the firm;
  • filing and admin support;
  • constant client contact including Teams and in-person meetings; and
  • developing the firm's and your own professional network.

Requirements

As a trainee solicitor you should ideally have the following attributes:

  • Completed an LLB or an undergraduate degree with a law conversion, and have achieved a 2.1 or 1st;
  • personable and charismatic manner with a strong work ethic;
  • experience of working in an office environment; and
  • computer literacy skills and experience of using social media outlets.

You will be primarily based in our Bristol office, and will also attend meetings and work events at our Mayfair office (travel expenses paid for by the company).
