The University of Law has announced the addition of a law and business programme to its Legal Practice Course (LPC) offering.

The programme will start from September 2017, with the aim of helping University of Law students gain a deeper understanding of business and the commercial environment in which law firms’ clients operate. The University of Law is partnering with European business school Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) to provide the programme, which will be jointly accredited by the two institutions. Students who enrol on the programme will attend business lectures and classes run by visiting GEM professors, as well as businesspeople, in addition to their legal studies.

Dr Stelios Platis, The University of Law’s managing director, said: “The next generation of lawyers must possess both strong legal expertise and a thorough understanding of business in order to give their clients the best possible advice. Our new law and business programme is another initiative which demonstrates our commitment to innovation and excellence and we are pleased to be partnering with GEM to deliver this truly unique offering.”
