Lawyers make up third most-stressed professional group, reports government watchdog

Lawyers are the third most-stressed group of professionals in the country, with women worst affected, government figures indicate.

The Health and Safety Executive has published findings from the last three years on work-related stress, anxiety and depression showing that legal professionals have some of the most stressful jobs in the United Kingdom, below only welfare professionals and nurses and midwives.

As the Law Gazette reports, the main stated cause of stress was overwork, with women slightly more statistically likely to suffer from stress than men.
