Bond Dickinson honoured at CILEx awards for apprenticeship excellence

updated on 13 October 2016

At the recent CILEx awards, honouring excellence in study, practice and practical training, Bond Dickinson won the award for CILEx Employer of the Year Award in relation to its apprenticeship programme.

The firm recruited three legal apprentices in 2014 to follow the CILEx Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services and a further three in 2015. The firm has just taken on a third cohort for their Plymouth office in September 2016.

Sam Lee, head of recruitment at Bond Dickinson, said: “Bond Dickinson have a proven, effective framework which has delivered enthusiastic and motivated apprentices, benefiting from the experience and engagement of all involved with the programme. We value apprentices as individuals and possibly the largest success has been watching their growth as people, not simply as statistics.”

Jenny Pelling, CILEx Law School’s Director of Business and Apprenticeships, said: "We congratulate Bond Dickinson on the award, which is in recognition of the strong support structure they have in place and the progression opportunities for their apprentices and CILEx students.”

Four other CILEx awards went to:

  • Gemma Ashcroft – Graduate of the Year Award
  • Christine Howard – Pro Bono Award
  • M A Muid Khan – CILEx President’s Award
  • Jessica Parlour – CILEx Apprentice of the Year Award
