University of Law earns gold in new uni ranking system

The University of Law has received a new “gold” rating in the new government-led Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). The TEF panel judged that the institution “delivers consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students. It is of the highest quality found in the United Kingdom.”
The new framework awards those institutions that have been assessed bronze, silver and gold status, based on, among other things, “statistics including dropout rates, student satisfaction survey results and graduate employment rates – including the proportion of graduates who go on to work in high-skill jobs”. Of the 134 universities and specialist higher education institutions that were given ratings in 2017, 32% scored gold, 50% silver and 18% bronze.
Professor Andrea Nollent, vice-chancellor and CEO at The University of Law, said: “Our students are smart and ambitious and rightly demand the highest standard of teaching, so we are delighted to receive the TEF gold standard. The award is testament to our tutors, all of whom are qualified solicitors or barristers, together with our teaching approach, which focuses on equipping our graduates with the skills they need and employers want.”
