Specialising in all aspects of family law relating to children, The Modern Family Law Company has been launched by solicitors Melissa Kelly and Deborah Baxter to cater for the “modern family”.
The firm aims to improve the legal services on offer for LGBT+, ethnic minority and disabled clients, and fill a gap in the legal services market, according to its founders Kelly and Baxter.
While working remotely, the firm also has an office in Colchester, Essex where it can offer face-to-face meetings following government guidance regarding covid-19. Its flexible operating hours have been tailored to suit its clients, offering them the chance to meet virtually with the firm’s lawyers at more convenient times during the day – for example, “early mornings after a HIIT session, or indeed after children have gone to bed.”
“Unlike ‘traditional’ law firms The Modern Family Law Company has been created to prioritise the evolving needs of our clients living in a society where we are ever more conscious of how we choose to use our time”, the firm said.
On top of the accessible legal services on offer, the firm is working with organisations like the Essex LGBT+ Alliance to create podcasts which highlight the various issues faced by its clients.
