The National Paralegal Awards, hosted by the Professional Paralegal Register (PPR), is taking place on Thursday 22 September at the Iconic Grand Hotel in Birmingham. This is the fourth year the awards has run.
The awards focus on the work and achievements of paralegals, whether they’re employed, self-employed, a volunteer or a business. Companies that support the profession are also celebrated.
On the night, 18 hotly contested categories will receive awards. Five of these are in business categories and the other 14 are individual awards. Each award recognises the diversity of a paralegal’s role within the variety of specialisms and roles that exist in the paralegal sector.
The award categories are open to any sector of law, From National Paralegal to National Paralegal Business. The awards also cover individual categories, such as Best Litigation Paralegal and Best Probate Research Organisation of the Year.
Rita Leat, managing director of PPR commented: “This year we have a record number of Paralegals and Law Firms attending the gala final. Over 30 law firms and 40 paralegal businesses are represented this year at the sold-out event. The Paralegal sector is the most diverse sector in the provision of legal services and can be evidenced by the attendees this year.
"Our Outstanding Achievement Award will be presented to a senior member of the legal profession, who will be announced on the night.
"The event starts at 6.30pm with the opportunity for finalists, sponsors, judges, and their guests to enjoy a drinks reception, sponsored by Fraser and Fraser. We wish good luck to all the finalists that have made this year’s shortlist and look forward to welcoming you to a night of celebration.”
This year, the conference is sponsored by the RightLegal Group.
A recording of the live event will be available on YouTube for public viewing in the next few weeks.
