Wiltshire-based firms Withy King and Lemon & Co have confirmed that they are to merge on 30 June 2014.
Withy King, which has offices in Bath, Swindon and Marlborough, will combine with Lemon & Co, based in Swindon; the newly formed firm will be known initially as Withy King, incorporating Lemon & Co. This follows Withy King’s recent acquisition of Whetter Duckwoth Fowler in December 2013. Graham Street, managing partner at Withy King, commented: "This is a great opportunity for two like-minded firms to strengthen and expand the range of services they offer to clients in Wiltshire and further afield."
Meanwhile, Squire Sanders has merged with Washington DC law firm, Patton Boggs, going live from 1 June 2014. Squire Patton Boggs brings together 1,700 lawyers across 22 countries; the merger vote by the firms’ partners was delayed by a complication in the legal dispute between Patton Boggs and Chevron, The Lawyer reported. Squire Sanders CEO, Jim Maiwurm, said: "Patton Boggs is the premier public policy firm in the world, and this combination establishes us as the ‘go-to’ firm for public policy work."
