Kaplan Altior to provide Welsh legal Higher Apprenticeship

updated on 04 July 2013

Skills for Justice has revealed that Cardiff-based Kaplan Altior will work in partnership with apprenticeship specialists Acorn to provide the first legal Higher Apprenticeship in Wales.

The scheme will commence this summer (2013) and will allow Welsh law firms access to fully-funded Higher Apprenticeships, which will help meet employers' increasing demands for paralegals and provide a formally structured and specialist career path for school leavers.

Alison Merrifield of Skills for Justice Wales said: "We're very pleased to have appointed Kaplan Altior with Acorn to lead this ground-breaking project. The Higher Apprenticeship for Legal Services is a very cost-effective way for firms in Wales to train staff into fee earning roles and I would encourage firms to take advantage of the funding available from the Welsh government."
