Professional services firm EY has announced that it will be offering training contracts to join its legal services team. EY received an alternative business structure (ABS) licence in 2014, allowing it to increase the size of its legal services team to over 30 people. It expects this figure to double within the next 12 months.
EY will be initially recruiting eight trainees, with four training contracts available to start in September 2016 (and the remaining four in 2017). Trainees will gain experience in corporate, commercial and employment law, as well as having the chance to undertake an overseas secondment. Successful applicants will receive GDL and/or LPC funding, as well as a maintenance grant.
Philip Goodstone, head of EY’s UK and Ireland legal services team, said: “Our trainees will gain experience in the full spectrum of EY’s legal services, but will also benefit from working side-by-side with colleagues from across EY in our tax, assurance, corporate finance and advisory practice. We will offer our trainees a fantastic opportunity to gain a rounded view of the business world, in addition to honing their legal skills.”
Training contract applications are now open and will close on 30 November 2015.
