CMS launches non-law graduate training scheme

updated on 09 July 2021

CMS has launched a two-year non-law graduate training programme called the Business Development & Marketing Graduate Programme, which will take on four candidates at the firm’s London office.

The programme is divided into four six-month-long seats, similar to a training contract, and the successful candidates will be exposed to “different areas of our business development and marketing functions.”

Each candidate will have the opportunity to “learn how to develop marketing campaigns” and “help partners win new business from new and existing clients.” This scheme will introduce successful applicants to various CMS teams, including innovation, commercial finance, legal project management and social impact.

The non-graduate programme offers new starters a first-year salary of £28,000 which can expect to go up to £32,000 in their second year.

Rob Gijsen, director of business development, marketing and communications at CMS said: “By joining the CMS Business Development & Marketing Graduate Programme, you will become part of the team that is at the heart of the way in which CMS positions its brand in the global market. You’ll also play a key role in helping clients achieve their goals and will support the firm in its drive to win new business.

The programme will give you experiences and teach you skills that you can transfer across the global professional services sector. It’s a $5 trillion industry that helps ensure the global economy operates smoothly and is fit to meet the regulatory, climate change and social challenges of the future.”

Applications are open until 30 July 2021. You can apply via the CMS website.

The programme is set to commence in September 2021. To be eligible for this scheme, applicants must be on track to achieve (or have already achieved) a 2:1 degree or higher.
