The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) has launched the CILEX AI Academy in collaboration with AI-powered learning platform 5Mins.ai. The micro-learning platform is said to deliver personalised AI training to professionals across the legal industry.

Designed with law firms and legal teams in mind, the CILEX AI Academy equips staff with AI literacy skills to address the growing use of generative AI as well as the AI training gap within legal organisations. The innovative platform will help staff to stay ahead of regulatory changes such as the EU AI Act, mitigate AI risks for organisations and clients, and ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI.

With bite-sized learning modules across five core areas of AI in law and individual learning pathways, legal professionals who complete the online training will receive a CILEX Certification. The CILEX AI Academy trains staff on generative AI tools, prompt engineering, AI ethics, data security and professional responsibility.

CILEX commercial director Toby Moseley said: “Traditional training options aren’t always able to keep up with the pace of change, so the new academy is designed to evolve to ensure that employees are trained on the most up-to-the-minute information.

“With concerns about AI hallucinations, confidentiality and ethics front of mind, the AI Academy focuses on giving employees the confidence to navigate AI ethically and safely, cultivating a culture where AI is understood across the organisation.”

Meanwhile, 5Mins.ai founder and CEO Saurav Chopra said: "Legal professionals need to master AI tools without compromising client confidentiality or professional standards. Our platform delivers this complex training through the same engagement mechanics that make social media addictive – but with content designed by legal AI experts.

“CILEX AI Academy means employers will be able to build genuinely AI-literate teams in weeks, not years, providing employees with cutting-edge skills and future-proofing their organisations without the need for lengthy build times or significant tech investment.”

CILEX will be hosting an ‘AI Academy in Action’ webinar on Tuesday 30 September at 12:30pm to introduce the platform and reveal how teams can use AI responsibly, ethically and effectively.
