Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner completes transatlantic merger

updated on 06 April 2018

The merger of City firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) and US-based Bryan Cave has been completed, creating new firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP).

Partners at both firms voted overwhelmingly to merge last month and following completion of the process on 3 April, the new firm has increased international reach with 32 offices in 11 countries, employing some 1,600 lawyers. The two firm’s senior leaders, BLP managing partner Lisa Mayhew and Bryan Cave chairwoman Therese Pritchard, are now co-chairing BCLP.

Before the merger, BLP offered 40 training contracts per year and it is expected that BCLP will employ a similar number, with confirmation expected in the coming weeks.
