Law firm A&L Goodbody LLP (ALG) has reopened its headquarters in Dublin, which has been redeveloped by IPUT Real Estate “using best-in-class building techniques, with an emphasis on renewable energy and low-carbon materials”.
While the building has retained 75% of its original structure, the changes will result in savings in carbon footprint and waste. The 155,000 square foot office is expected to use 67% less energy than before, due to a new all-electric heat pump strategy, high-performance façade and new smart technology. Following the redevelopment, which began in 2022, the office now has two additional floors, landscaped terraces, a new atrium and a purpose-built client suite.
ALG managing partner, David Widger, said: “It is our building for the future, while staying rooted in the place we called home for over two decades.
“Working with IPUT, we’ve created a building that meets the highest standards and reflects the values of our clients and our business – forward-looking, responsible and globally connected.”
ALG employs more than 1,000 people across its offices, including 346 lawyers and 120 partners. The firm operates in Dublin, Belfast, London, New York and San Francisco.
