Law Society president Linda Lee has become the first female head of the society to admit her daughter to the roll of solicitors. Gabrielle Maria Lee studied at the University of Sheffield and University of London before training at Bolton-based, legal aid firm Joe Egan Solicitors.
Speaking of how her mother inspired her to pursue a career in legal aid, Gabrielle said: “I’ve always been very interested in law, and this interest was definitely sparked through seeing my mum work and hearing her talk about it. I’m very grateful to be given the opportunity to work as a solicitor. Legal aid is a very important area of law as you are helping the people who are in most need of representation.”
Linda said: "I see so many proud parents, family members and friends at each and every admissions ceremony at the Law Society and today I am definitely a proud mother. I am delighted Gabrielle has chosen to work in the legal aid sector and I hope she finds it as rewarding as I have done."
